Go Expedition!
The activity programme at Utopia will be focused on outdoor pursuits and inspired by the local slogan “The world’s best municipality for outdoors enthusiasts”. An overnight hike, called the Expedition, will be a central part of the programme.

The Romsdal Mountains
The area surrounding Utopia, Romsdalsfjella (the Romsdal Mountains), is one of the best areas for hiking in Norway. From the shore of Romsdalsfjorden (the fjord of Romsdal) to the highest mountains of North-West Norway and the tallest vertical rock faces in Northern Europe, the area offers a wide variety of landscapes and amazing opportunities for different kinds of outdoor activities. The two day Expedition hike in this area will be exciting for the participants.

Something for every patrol
The patrols may choose between easy, intermediate or challenging routes, depending on the fitness level of the people in the patrol. Several of the routes can be adapted during the hike, if the groups want to make an easy hike more challenging or a difficult one easier.

Rover hike
The rovers may choose between an easy hike, with optional canoe paddling, and a more challenging mountain hike. Both hikes will take part from Wednesday to Thursday.

Register for the hiking routes here
Each patrol and rover group should choose three hiking routes and rank them with the most preferred route as number 1. Large rover teams may choose to split up and the smaller groups can do different hiking routes. The troop's contact person should please email the name of the patrols/rover groups and their three preferred hiking routes to Trine Lund at lund_trine@yahoo.no. Please send in your hiking preferences by the deadline May 20.

All patrols will be allocated a hiking route. It may happen that a patrol will be allocated a hiking route that was not on their wish list.
